Probe
Scans forward from the surface to the bottom – up to 1,200 feet ahead. | |
|
The
Probe from Interphase Technologies, Inc. lets you see what the future
has in store for you. Working like an underwater radar, the Probe scans
a moving beam vertically from just below the surface to directly beneath the boat
to show "live action" views of shallowing bottom conditions, underwater structure,
large forward obstructions and even fish and schools of bait out ahead of your
boat. The Probe also operates as a full-featured conventional downlooking
depth sounder.
The powerful Probe can
detect changing bottom conditions up to several hundred feet beyond your bow and
can scour the depths up to 800 feet below your keel. An easy to use front panel
control allows optimum adjustment of the forward beam direction and width and
a unique alarm can be set to warn of upcoming obstructions or shallowing conditions.

These
screen captures illustrate the Probe in both a split screen mode (to left,
reading in chart mode of bottom as it passes under the boat and to the right,
a forward scanning display)
Also note that the sensitivity (Gain) may be turned up or down resulting in a
more detailed view and increases one's ability to "display" fish or suspended
targets. |
Ease of Operation
The Probe
offers numerous split screen modes easily accessed with only five buttons. The
product is truly intuitive and user friendly. Any adjustment on screen can be
modified simply by using the large Beam dial. - Choice
of Views
Probe
viewing can be forward, downward, or a combination of both. The scan can be reduced
to a fraction of the 90 degree sweep and then "steered" anywhere from just under
the surface to directly downward. - Split
Screens
Along
with the traditional split screen and navigational split screen (an industry innovation
first introduced by Interphase in 1988) the Probe offers a forward
looking display with either navigation or bottom chart views. - Forward
Seeking View
The
Probe offers recreational boaters a never before available forward
scan of the bottom and suspended targets. Forward range is up to six times the
current water depth with a 1,200' maximum forward display (420 watts RMS).
- Durability
Like all of today's
Interphase products, the Probe is built by hand in the USA, each
